The XHP hummer conversion kit includes the highest quality components available for your Duramax powered Hummer project. The entire kit has been engineered to optimize the fit of the Duramax drivetrain into the hummer platform. These components have been used to build dozens of Duramax powered Hummers and account for some of the manufacturing tolerances of these vehicles which can be quite large.
Our engine mounts and transmission crossmember utilize the factory Duramax engine mounts and transmission mounts to minimize vibration and provide the best engine position. The driver side engine mount also incorporates a bracket to support the front driveshaft carrier bearing.
The most unique and important components of the kit are the cooling system components. The Duramax produces significantly more power than the 6.5 diesel and accordingly it produces a lot more heat. The boost pressure of a high performance duramax can exceed 30psi which is nearly three times more than a 6.5 diesel. Our high flow intercooler is built from a 3” bell core and has high flow radiused end tanks and mandrel bent charge pipe connections. This intercooler system has been tested on compound turbo systems at over 70 psi!!!
This cooling stack starts with an all aluminum radiator that has brackets built in to support the intercooler as well as a factory Hummer trans cooler/power steering cooler and a factory Hummer H1 A/C condenser if desired. We provide an o-ring sealed turbo inlet and air filter plumbing with a machined MAF sensor block, this provides a truly water tight connection to the engine. All of the silicone couplers and stainless t-bolt clamps are included. A modified duramax cooling fan blade is provided and works with a factory GM fan clutch and the original Hummer radiator fan shroud.
We also provide a tig welded mandrel bent aluminum lower radiator hose and a mandrel bent exhaust downpipe with heat wrap. A 3” body lift and hood pivot brackets are also provided to ensure proper drivetrain clearance. The entire list of components included is as follows:
